AI Exposure Isn’t Squeezing Advertised Pay in the US — It’s Boosting It
Indeed’s analysis finds that advertised pay has risen faster in AI-exposed occupations, including software development, than in less-exposed work. Since 2021, pay in the most AI-exposed roles increased about 46%, with the largest premium concentrated in senior positions.

Millennials are winning the AI talent wars—they’re getting 60% of all the top AI jobs and earning $236K salaries. But most of them are men.
LinkedIn data shows millennials account for 60% of new head-of-AI hires and receive a median salary of $236,000. AI engineer and forward-deployed engineer roles are also attracting younger workers, with median pay of $166,000 and $199,000, respectively.
